Minimum Requirements

  • Promote Newfield Exploration’s culture of safety and environmental stewardship
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to work collaboratively to scope, engineer and design Well Pad Facilities (single and multi-well), Central Processing Facilities, Salt Water Disposal Facilities, respond to Operations’ requests to troubleshoot and correct problems with existing facilities (retrofit projects), fluid transport systems, etc
  • Support efforts to develop and maintain a process safety culture through leading HAZOP/HAZID studies, developing Cause and Effect analysis to support facilities and leading Management of Change process 
  • Support the development of technical guidance, standards and procedures related to operation of equipment and automation & electrical systems
  • Understand process piping standards and specifications, materials selection and metallurgical requirements
  • Field and office experience with project management of construction and installation of systems. Candidate should have experience with project budgets, timing, communication of progress to management, economics, and vendor contracts and negotiations
  • Familiarity with E&P/Midstream gathering, transportation, treating and processing contracts; technical and commercial aspects of the agreements
  • Experience with gathering system hydraulic modeling; how to do it, what it tells you, and benefits
  • Experience with writing and administering contracts for services, construction and equipment
  • Be able to identify midstream opportunities as they arise in E&P operations (compressor and equipment downsizing, consolidation of gathering pipelines, etc
  • Understand LOE and capital budgeting process and impacts on cmash flow
  • Good interpersonal skills (important in working with operations engineers, asset team members, marketing, land, legal, field superintendents, etc.)
  • Stay abreast of industry developments within technical area of responsibility
  • Develop and implement recovery plans to ensure project schedule and costs remain on track with budget and forecast
  • Develop project cost estimates, project budgets, long term plans, and forecasts as with necessary supporting data including development scenarios, schedules, etc


Additional Details

  • May require oversight responsibilities of contract workers.
  • Strong team building skills and ability to communicate effectively across all functions in the organization
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oil and Gas required; Onshore experience preferred
  • A minimum of a B.S. in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical or related engineering degree
  • Travel: Approximately 25%
  • Proactive analytical skills with attention to details and process improvements
  • Project management planning and tracking tools helpful, but not required - Primavera, MS Project
