Brief Posting
Installs, tests, repairs, and maintains all Newfield metering and monitoring equipment, controlling devices, data logging, display equipment communicators, and telemetry systems. Performs all necessary repairs as required.
Detailed Description
Technician must be fully competent to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of industrial instrumentation to include electronic monitoring, metering, controlling, signaling devices, telemetry troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Installs/monitors/inspects equipment and instrumentation for well site facilities.
  • Disassembles and examines malfunctioning instruments and test equipment.  Replaces or repairs defective parts. Reassembles and tests equipment for conformance to specifications.
  • Calibrates and aligns instruments or test equipment according to established standards.
  • Loop troubleshooting 4-20 mA / 1 to 5 VDC.
  • May assist in developing E&I preventive maintenance program for electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
  • Assists in the construction of mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems for process equipment.
  • Continuously identifies problem areas and suggests plans to optimize performance regarding installation, hardware, software and/or process issues in close cooperation with production and facility team.
  • Works with drawings, sketches, specs, as-builts for proposed installations and completed projects.
  • Participates in scheduled safety meetings and completes safety training requirements.
  • Provides technical support on capital projects to ensure that applicable standards are followed and reliable equipment is installed.
  • May coordinate the work of maintenance contractors.
  • Will be required to occasionally travel between Newfield work locations in Oklahoma.
Minimum Requirements
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must have three (3) years experience of performing skilled work on industrial instrumentation and metering.
  • A high level of computer knowledge with two (2) years of programming experience.
  • Must have the ability and willingness to work extended hours and on weekends.
  • Must be able to take call-outs as necessary.
  • Must have a proven record of working independently with little direct supervision.
  • Successful candidate must have good communication skills.
