Brief Posting

Maintains the ownership records for producing properties.  Responsible for reviewing files and title opinions to determine title ownership.  Coordinates with senior level analysts on new well setup, curative work, deck setups, etc.  Independently resolves minor administrative problems with owners.  Primary areas of activity are in Oklahoma, North Dakota and Utah.

 

 Detailed Description

  • Analyze and interpret deeds, leases, assignments, probate documents, contracts, legal decrees, division orders, joint operating agreements, contracts and other similar and related legal documents conveying title to oil and gas properties
  • Determine working interest and burdens associated with interests based on analysis of title opinions, leases, deeds, assignments, purchase and sale agreements, probate documents, and other contracts
  • Communicate with the interest owners by providing them with Division Orders, answering their questions and processing their changes
  • Create new Division Orders and obtain execution of the Division Orders
  • Review and interpret legal documents in order to effect ownership changes
  • Obtain new owner numbers as needed
  • Maintain and update Land, Revenue and Joint Interest Billing Divisions of Interest for operated properties
  • Research and resolve revenue discrepancies
  • Prepare reverse and re-book Divisions of Interest for Accounting department
  • Meet cyclical deadlines for accounting
  • Work on Special Projects as needed including Divestitures, Acquisitions, etc.
  • Willing to share knowledge through mentoring and training
  • Experience in assessment of title requirements and determining appropriate curative needed, collaborating with Land personnel as necessary
  • Ability to order title opinions and communicate effectively with title attorneys and brokers

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years proven title analysis
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter that also excels in team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Enterprise Upstream (formerly Oracle Energy) software experiences a plus.
  • High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred
